Business Overview

We are one of the largest non-hazardous solid waste management companies in North America. Our two brands serve the needs of 1.8 million commercial, industrial and residential customers.

In Canada, we acquired our original assets in 2000 and today, BFI Canada serves the needs of the country’s most populous regions across five provinces.

In the US, our business was acquired in 2005 and today, the IESI brand is a leader in two large regions: the US south and the US northeast comprising 10 states.

BFI Canada and IESI came together under the corporate name BFI Canada Income Fund, which is one of the largest business income trusts in North American capital markets.
